A child starts to learn its native language from birth.
The younger they are the more curious they are. Children learn through curiosity, playing,
and early experience etc.
Their brain develops very rapidly, taking in information of all sorts and
storing it away for future use.
A child that experiences a second or third language from birth will automatically understand and speak
these languages, and be fluent in them later on in life. They just have to keep at it, as we say.
Teaching Language to children from the age of 2 years old, or even younger,
is something new and rarely practised in Germany.
Those teachers who do teach small children (mainly freelance teachers working in their own home),
will agree that it is a wonderful experience and full of fun and enjoyment,
not to mention the adventure involved.
The parents of these children are very grateful to these ladies (and gents) who
are pioneers in language teaching in Germany.
