Why should
young children learn grammar ?

Children are experts at learning in Early Childhood. They can learn
almost anything that is offered to them in the first 3 or 4 years of life.
Learning a second language at a very
young age (2 yrs.) is easy for a child. If you can also find a way to
teach very young children grammar in a playful and systematic way, then the
children will easily learn the grammar.
Being able to speak a language fluently
is one thing, being able to master the grammar is something very special and
has enormous advantages later on in life.
Learning grammar at a very young age helps children express themselves by
using adjectives and adverbs to bring colour to their writing. It also
improves their spelling in a structured way by teaching the key rules.
Children will be able to learn to write with accuracy and greater expression
so that their writing can give real pleasure
Their writing is easier to understand if it is grammatically correct.
This will help the child later on in life.
Learning foreign languages becomes easier if the basics of grammar (even
that of ones own native language) are understood.
Junior English realizes these facts, and is now starting English grammar
courses for young children. The Jolly Phonics / Grammar Teaching
Materials have been chosen because they teach the children in an active way
that is fun for the children. The children learn the letter sounds in
a way that has been very successful in the UK, Canada, New Zealand and Hong
Kong, just to name a few.
